Lozaphuhu Village Council members pledge to be ‘honest and diligent’

Phek, April 13 (MExN): Taking a pledge “to be honest and diligent in the discharge of its duties according to the spirit of Christian principles” the Lozaphuhu Village Council (LVC) members under Phek district swore over the Bible on April 12.

A press release from Zhokusheyi Rhakho, Lozaphuhu village, Phek stated that the LVC new member installation programme was chaired by Kevikho Vese and prayer was said by Rev Fr KC James, St Mary’s Parish Priest, Lozaphuhu. Speaking on behalf of organizers, Dr Zhokusheyi Rhakho said, “a good system is necessary for producing a good leader, hence a swearing in over the Bible.” Villagers from Dimapur, Kohima, Lanezho, Phek town and Village Gazetted Officers’ Forum also addressed the gathering. 

The swearing in to the new elected council members was pronounced by Rev Kevengo-I Sakha, Pastor Lozaphuhu Baptist Church (LBC) and President, CBCC while Rev Khrotso Mero, Executive Secretary, Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC) exhorted the gathering and prayed for the new members. 

LVC new chairman, Khusuzo Khamo in his speech said that the team would give their best and live up to the expectation. The programme closed with prayer by Chinesolu Vese, Woman Pastor, LBC.
