Dimapur, September 21 (MExN): According to a press statement issued by Langkok Village Council, one Setsathong Sangtam, Deputy Project Officer (DPO), DRDA, Kiphire was threatened be “to shoot dead” by T. V Lisaba Sangtam, Deputy Secretary, FGN on September 13. The statement was appended by LVC Chairman Litsamong, LVC Secretary Yanhotong, Yangtsali, Setsapi, Tsathrikyu, Thsithronglo and Tsalumse.
Following this report, the Langkok Village Council (LVC) and Langkok Village Union Kiphire had a joint meeting on September 14 and unanimously resolved on three points: the LVC decided to stop paying of Employment Tax, house tax, ration tax, life soul census tax and even business men shall be exempted from paying any tax; under no circumstances the entire Langkok Village citizens shall co-operate with the FGN and thirdly if any untoward incident happens to any of the Langkok citizens of the family members of Setsathong, the entire responsibility shall be borne by T. V Litsaba.
