Marian Congregation of the Houses of Charity gets first members from Nagaland

Phek, December 10 (MExN): With the Perpetual Profession of Rev. Sisters Rose Hesuh (Krosalü) and Esther Dukru (Savirhü), the Marian Congregation of the Houses of Charity has its first members from Nagaland. The sacred ceremony was held at St. Joseph's Church, Porba on December 10 with Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima officiating the Holy Mass. 10 priests concelebrated with him.  

Rev. Sr. Ines, Major Superior of Minor Carmelites of Charity from Italy, Sr. Mary, Regional Superior, Rev. Fr. David, responsible of the Marian Congregation of the Houses of Charity, India, Rev. Frs. Philip, SJ, Parish Priest, Pfutsero, James Thsepongkiu, Parish Priest, Razeba, Ceikunü, Pastor, Christians Revival, Church (CRC) Porba, delegates from Dimapur, Kohima, Jakhama, Pfutsero, Thenyzumi, Razeba, Sakraba and many invited guests were present for the celebration.  

Bishop in the introduction congratulated Sisters Rose and Esther for their courageous decisions to make their final vows to God as a religious in the Marian Congregation of the Houses of Charity, Mumbai. In the homily, the he commented that the joy of the encounter with Jesus and of His call leads one not to close oneself in self sufficiency but to opening oneself in the Lord’s service and in the service of his Church, according to a press release from Thomas Toretkiu, Bishop’s Secretary.  

The sacred function of final professions took place after the homily. First, the candidates were examined for their readiness, willingness and freedom. Then there was the most touching gesture of total surrender signified by prostration on the ground, during which the litany of saints was sung imploring the intercession of all the angels and saints to come to the aid of the weak human being who make their final commitment with the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience, the release said. With the traditional prayer of consecration uttered by the bishop and giving of the ring signifying the total surrender to the divine master for the rest of their life, the two sisters were inducted to the Marian Congregation for the rest of their lives.  

Ceikunü, Pastor, Christians Revival, Church (CRC) Porba, while speaking in occasion, congratulated Sisters Rose and Esther for bringing name and fame to the village.
