Mokokchung, June 20 (MExN): The Mokokchung to Mariani Roadside Villagers Concern Forum (MMRVCF) has made an appeal to Commanding Officer 752 GREF C/O 99 APO for repairing and maintaining the Mariani to Mokokchung road location 0.00 km to Tzurang Bridge at the earliest.
A press release from MMRVCF Convenor Imchawati Kichu stated that on May 13, 2018 in a joint meeting attended by village councils of Chungtiayimsen, Moayimti, Aokum, Japu and Chungliyimsen, Forum Officials and Jetender Dewari, OC 103 RCC New Sonowal for the same purpose.
During the joint meeting, “the OC assured the members present for early maintenance of road upto Tzurang Bridge in the next phase. Unfortunately portion at the location Chungtiayimsen to Tzurang Bridge is left untouched till date,” he stated.
This is the only lifeline connectivity for the district of Mokokchung, Zunheboto, Tuensang and Noklak. The commuters of the road are facing untold sufferings for the last one and half year due to poor condition, he added.
Further, the Forum appealed to the concerned officers for early action “failing which the Forum will initiate its due course of steps for the commuter’s convenience.”
