Dimapur, November 13 (MExN): The 1st Winter Badminton Tournament concluded on November 12 with Miathou Krose, Chairman, NHHDCL Nagaland, as special guest of the closing ceremony.
Meyiezo Pusa and Kenei Kera of New Medziphema (Jharnapani) emerged as the champions and were awarded with a pair of racquet (worth Rs 4000 each) and Rs 3000 cash. Runners-up Yavikolie Vüprü and Atoka Swu of Ward-4, Medziphema Town received a pair of racquet (worth Rs 2000 each) and Rs 2000 cash.
The awards were sponsored by MLA Zhaleo Rio and Miathou Krose. While the MLA gifted nets, shuttlecocks, etc. for the tourney, Miathou Krose also sponsored T-shirts and Rs 3000 each for Semi-finalist teams, the organizers informed in a press release on Saturday.
The tournament was organised by Medziphema Town Youth Organization and Medziphema Town Students’ Union (MTYO & MTSU) in collaboration with ADC Medziphema and sponsored by local MLA Zhaleo Rio, Advisor, Sericulture, Excise & Minority Affairs, government of Nagaland.
