DIMAPUR, APRIL 25 (MExN): The Sainik School Punglwa Annual Inter-House Basketball Championship 2018-19 for Sub Junior category concluded on 24 April with Melak House winning the championship. The final match was played between Saramati House and Melak House. It was an emphatic win for Melak who won the championship with a point difference of 25-12. Kedosetuo Pienyu of Melak House for his overall performance was adjudged the best player in the Sub-Junior category. The championship commenced on 19 April and the matches were played on league cum knock out basis. This victory gives Melak a strong contender to crown as overall champion. Gp Capt, Sharad R Keskar the Principal of the school, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and gave away the medals and certificates. The chief guest while speaking to the cadets after the prize distribution ceremony emphasised upon the team work and coordination as the key to victory. He appreciated the young players for their skills and agility in the game. He also asked them to have a thorough knowledge about the rules and regulations of the game as they are still a novice in the game.
