Minister Ozukum inaugurates inter village link roads

DIMAPUR, APRIL 11 (MExN): Minister for Mechanical and Housing (PWD), Tongpang Ozukum inaugurated two inter village link roads in Mokokchung on April 10. 

Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the link road between Chakpa and Yaongyimti(New) village, the minister asserted that the newly the constructed link road should be labeled as 'friendship road' as it will strengthen the bond between the two villages closer. He also assured to provide further assistance for maintenance of the road.

Suponglemba, Village Council Chairman, Yaongyimti (New) the minister for fulfilling the dream of the two villages by completing the construction of the link road, which the citizens of Yaongyimti (New) village in particular had planned for nearly 20 years. He also said that with the construction of the link road, it takes only nine minutes to reach Chakpa village now, as opposed to taking half an hour to circumnavigate on vehicle before.

Imkonglemba, Village Council Chairman, Chakpa also thanked the minister for personally overseeing the construction of the link road which has been an unfulfilled dream of the two village for nearly two decades.

Ozukum, who is on a week-long constituency tour also inaugurated the reconstruction of a seven kilometer inter village link road between Yaongyimti(Old) and Salulamang village.

Construction of this road has shortened the distance for the citizens of Phangsang to reach Chuchuyimlang EAC circle office. Besides, the reconstruction of the link road will be a boon for the villagers of Yaongyimti (Old) for travelling to their farms and paddy fields which are situated mostly on the banks of the river dikhu.
