Mokokchung, March 31 (MExN): Further systematizing public movement to ensure social distancing, authorities in Mokokchung have today introduced a module whereby each household will be issued a card to procure essential commodities.
The card is being issued by the Core Team on Essential Commodities Mokokchung COVID-19 which was instituted by the district administration in the wake of the 21-day national lockdown. Only one person from a family is allowed to go out for purchasing essential commodities. Further, essential commodities will be sold in the market only in the production of the card duly signed by the concerned Ward Task Force.
In this respect, the chairman of the Core Team on Essential Commodities and ADC Mokokchung, Manpai Phom has instructed the respective Ward Task Force COVID-19 to monitor and restrict unnecessary vehicular movement by the residents within their respective ward jurisdictions and sensitize the ward members on the importance of social distancing. The Ward Task Force has also been instructed to monitor movement of public for purchase of essential commodities in their respective jurisdictions.
The cards will be issued to the households within Mokokchung municipality through the respective ward authorities. For those coming from areas outside the municipality to procure essential commodities, they are required to produce an authorization letter issued by the respective block administrative officer.
