More launch Measles-Rubella Vaccination Campaign in Nagaland

Dimapur, October 7 (MExN): Along with the district administrations, the Measles-Rubella Vaccination Campaign (MRVC) was also launched in various sub-divisions in Nagaland on October 3. The campaign targets to vaccinate 4.72 lakh children in the age group of 9 months to 15 years during the next five weeks.  

Bhandari: Measles-Rubella Vaccination Campaign was launched by EAC, Bhandari Head Quarter, Sulanthung Khenjung on October 3 at Government High School, Bhandari.  

In his brief speech he called upon the community to analyse the health benefits of vaccinating all children from 9 months to 15 years of age to lead a healthy life. He also encouraged them to avail the opportunity given by the Government free of cost without fear and doubts.  

Rev. Abemo Patton, Pastor, Bhandari Town Baptist Church prayed and invoked God's blessing during the Programme. Dr. Atula CHC, Bhandari chaired the programme and AHM, GHS Bhandari, Y. YanbemoLotha gave vote of thanks.  

Later in the programme, children were administered vaccination. Leading the Medical Team, Doctors of CHC Bhandari closely supervised the programme.  

Tseminyu: MO Tseminyu, Dr.Tinenlo launched the MR vaccination campaign program at Baptist Higher Secondary School in Tseminyu Town on October 3. Spot sensitisation for parents, teachers and Students on MRVC was conducted before launching the MR vaccination campaign. Dispelling rumours regarding the MR campaign in the state, two school students from BHSS Tseminyu volunteered themselves to be vaccinated despite reluctance from their parents on the launching day.  

Changtongya: School Rally for Measles and Rubella Vaccination campaign of all children from 9 months to 15 years of age was held at Changtongya Town Police Point on October 1. The school rally was organised by Department of School Education Changtongya Town which was participated by all the government and private schools under Changtongya Town.  

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Wapang, MO Ayush, Community Health Centre Changtongya said that the rally is being held in order to spread the awareness of Measles and Rubella diseases. He also said that the disease is not curable but can prevented only through the MR vaccination. He further encouraged all the parents to take it seriously and avail the vaccination for the children and to make the area free from measles and rubella diseases.  

Short speech was also delivered by Satemmongla, SDEO Changtongya. She said the World Health Organisation and Government of India is providing the measles and rubella vaccination to eliminate and make India free from the diseases by 2020. She also expressed her gratitude to all the students and teachers for making the school rally a grand success.
