Advisor for Land Resources Department, Government of Nagaland G Ikuto Zhimomi inaugurated the Nagaland Coffee House at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama on November 29.

Speaking after cutting the ribbon of the new house, he said coffee houses have long been a hub of innovation, creativity and a place to connect and to inspire with one another. He said it also has a long history associated with revolution that happened around the world. 

The Advisor expressed optimism that the Nagaland Coffee House will be wonderful addition not just for the Hornbill festival site but also for our community to come together and converge. 

He said it will also be a great opportunity for local entrepreneurs to grow. 

The advisor meanwhile encouraged the people to come experience the unique coffee of Nagaland and support local entrepreneurs and celebrate spirit of entrepreneurship. 

Zhimomi also meanwhile thanked the Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for enabling relocation of Coffee House and ensuring it’s completion in such a short span of time with best facilities. 

A brief note on the Nagaland Coffee House was presented by the Director, Department of Land Resources Albert Ngullie. He maintained that the Nagaland Coffee was introduced in the Hornbill Festival in 2016, with a small typical Naga hut and the next year, a plot of Land was alloted by the state government. 

Govt of Nagaland has sanctioned a good location this year and the House was reconstructed and completed in record time of less than less than 2 months. 

Ngullie expressed hope it will be of immense benefit for Coffee farmers and traders of the state. 

The programme was chaired by Commissioner and Secretary, Department of Land Resources, Government of Nagaland and the dedicatory prayer was pronounced by Rev Mekhale Yhoshü, Senior Pastor, Kigwema Baptist Church.
