Nagaland COVID-19: 103 recoveries, active cases at 76

Nagaland’s total number of recovered cases continued to surpass the number of active cases on Tuesday as 11 more samples tested negative for COVID-19 during their second test. The tally of recovered cases rose to 103 denoting a recovery rate of 57.54%.


Meanwhile, two more samples tested positive for COVID-19 in Nagaland taking the total number of cases to 179. The number of active COVID-19 cases now stands at 76. 


Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom confirmed the recoveries on Twitter stating, “11 more patients have tested negative of COVID-19 in their second test. 5 from DH, Dimapur, 4 from AR Hospital, Dmp & 2 from Kohima. All patients are shifted to COVID-19 care centre for observation. Update at 6:35 PM, 16th June 2020.” 


As per updates from the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, all the positive persons are asymptomatic and receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals.


In the daily briefing on COVID-19 by Principal Secretary, Home, Abhijit Sinha informed that 111 of the positive cases are males and 68 females. Most of the cases are in the 18 -44 years age group with 169 patients falling under the cohort. It is followed by 45-54 years age group at 4 while there are 4 cases among 0-17 age bracket. There are two cases in the 65-74 years age group, Sinha said.
