184 samples test negative, 2 sent for re-test, 40 results awaited

 

KOHIMA, APRIL 16 (MExN): 184 samples tested for COVID-19 have returned negative as of April 16, with results for 40 samples awaited, while 2 samples have been sent for re-testing.  


Home Commissioner, Abhijit Sinha today informed that so far the State has sent 226 samples for testing. This includes 41 samples which were sent today. 


With regard to the COVID positive patient from Dimapur which was detected in Guwahati; as of 6:00 pm of April 16, a total of 140 samples of persons connected to the patient, which includes co-passengers, health care workers and family members, have been collected and sent for testing. 


Out of this, results of 100 samples have been received and they are all are negative.


The Home Commissioner meanwhile informed that certain additional containment measures for preventing the spread of COVID-19 have been made applicable in the State with immediate effect. 


Among such additional measures is the mandatory requirement of wearing face masks or face coverings in all public places and work places by all the citizens and completely refraining from spitting in public places.
