Nagaland Deputy CM updates on FCI cashier, NU investigations

Dimapur, September 4 (MExN): Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister Minister Y Patton today stated that while the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB), Imphal, has  been registered  a case on July 10, 2025 concerning the disproportionate assets of the FCI Cashier, there has been no update on the case. 

“It has also been informed that no further updates or information regarding the case have been received by the CBI Imphal as of now,” the Minister in-charge of Home and Border Affairs stated in a replay to a query by MLA Kuzholuzo Nienu on the second and final day of the Seventh Session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly on September 4. 

AS per reports, the CBI has uncovered investments amounting to Rs 19 crore allegedly made by a cashier of the Food Corporation of India (FCI) in Nagaland, whose total earnings from salary over the last six years stood at just Rs 40 lakh.

Meanwhile, regarding another on the alleged misappropriation by a senior professor at Nagaland University, Patton clarified that the matter does not fall under misappropriation. 

However, it is currently under investigation by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), CBI, Guwahati, he added.
