Nagaland: Fuel dearer by average of 25 paise

As price of petrol reached an all-time high in the national Capital on Thursday with a hike of 23 paise per litre, fuel outlets across Nagaland saw an average increase of 25 paise per litre.

In Dimapur, petrol price rose to Rs 86.59 on January 7 from Rs 86.34 on Wednesday. The price of diesel also saw an increase of 23 paise per litre, rising to Rs 77.55, according to data available on the Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.
Petrol price in Kohima was at Rs 87.55 and diesel at Rs 78.24.

Among other district headquarters, petrol retailed at Rs 89.80 per litre in Tuensang and diesel at Rs 80.02 per litre on Thursday, while in Noklak, petrol was priced at Rs 89.57 a litre and diesel at Rs 79.93 a litre. In Mon, petrol was being sold at Rs 89.30 a litre, while diesel at Rs 79.61.

Petrol and diesel were sold at Rs 89.07 and Rs 79.37 respectively in Zunheboto; Rs 87.79 and Rs 78.46 in Phek; Rs 88.85 and Rs 79.28 in Longleng; Rs 88.22 and Rs 78.74 in Wokha, Rs 88.34 and Rs 78.87 in Mokokchung; Rs 86.86 and Rs 77.75 in Peren and Rs 89.71 and Rs 79.99 in Kiphire.

According to reports from PTI, with benchmark Brent crude on the rise for the past few days over the news of successful coronavirus vaccine and continuation of production cuts by OPEC+, fuel prices in India could see a further rise in coming weeks.

Brent crude is currently trading at close to $55 a barrel, a $ 5 increase in just around a week’s time, it said.
