Guwahati, September 26 (MExN): Governor of Nagaland and National Brand Ambassador for Swachh Bharat Mission, PB Acharya took part in a Swachh Bharat Abhiyan North East States (NAMASTE) at Rajbari Fields, Manipuri Basti, Guwahati on September 25 along with the brand Ambassadors of North East NAMASTE states Swachh Bharat Mission Committee.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Acharya emphasized on the importance of having clean surroundings and proper sanitation at home, stated a press release by PRO to Governor. He stated that cleanliness should begin at home and every household should have proper toilets and called for an end of open defecation.
The Governor further highlighted that Swachh Bharat Mission is targeted to build one crore individual household toilets besides 2.52 crore community toilet seats.
The programme was attended by Convener North East NAMASTE States Swachh Bharat Mission Committee, Sotai Kri, Arunachal Pradesh and members of the Committee including Neelam Dutta, Assam, Ram Pada Jamatia, Tripura and Shoupen Phom, Nagaland. A social work in the vicinity led by the Governor was also conducted after the end of the programme. All members of the North East NAMASTE states Swachh Bharat Mission Committee and public took part in the social work.
