Is Nagaland govt doing anything to bridge the gap between rich and poor?

Some of those who voted  YES had this to say:
•    I think at a policy level, the DAN government has introduced policies which has the potential to confront the gap between rich and poor. Policies for entrepreneurs, youth and women are welcome but really its in the area of implementation that it is failing. So policy wise its a start, but implementation is miserable. The area of implementing policies is riddled with corrupt practices, money power and all kinds of practices that will only fuel the gap between rich and poor. The Nagaland bureaucracy needs overhauling if some changes are to come about.
•    Yes, they are creating a lot of job opportunities and this is helping tackle poverty.

Some of those who voted NO  had this to say:
•    Infact, it is Nagaland Government who are responsible for creating a huge differences in dividing the innocent Naga society into 3/4 class.. Blood suckers!!!! To hell, with the Govt!!
•    There is absolutely nothing being done.
•    Rather they have caused some to be richer at the expense of the poor. This will explode if not check soon.
•    No positive steps have been taken till date.
•    Not at all. In fact they are adding to the division. The government of Nagaland I am sad to say is patronizing only a select group of people besides their own family. They are promoting only a few selected youths who are talented in their fields. This level of patronizing has reached new levels and will only create more gap between the rich and the poor.
•    I think the rich are getting richer and the poor is getting poorer. With a bulk of corrupt politicians, the money are being used for their own selfish interest. They rarely have time for the poorer sections of the society. Just take the example of various competitive exams, even though the candidates with poor backgrounds have much capability they are neglected. Then there is no chance of improvement in the conditions of the poorer sections. I wish and I hope that the government would look after the matters of the poorer sections in the coming years.
•    No, the rich are amazing public funds through fraudulent means because they are expert in pursuing after the bogus files whereas the poor especially the fourth estate comprising of about 80% population never know what is happening. When we think of the hawala scam, the black money scam and the ENPO demanding of a frontier state who am I to speak! Even the east circular road leading to BSF camp at Kohima is piece mealed.
• More than 80 percent of the rural poor are jhum cultivators. Unless the livelihood of these cultivators are improved the gap will remain wide. Financial support and grants should be directed in this direction. so called job creations, expos, festivals, tourism, entrepreneurship, capacity building will, but can't cover even 5 per cent of the above!. The government needs a rethink on this... the huge gap!
• They don't give a hand to the one needy people.
• No. The classic Marism, in a Naganised way seems to be operating in our society. Land grabbing, corruption, coercion, loan-sharking etc., by both elitist overground and underground are shamefully beyond the control of the government due to the mixed masala situation. Therefore, the rich are becoming richer and the poor are being made poorer but there will be no revolution. The gap will widen more. Woe is us.
•    Absolutely not! If our govt care for the poor at all, why would they spend so much development fund on high class vehicles accompanied by two police escorts maruti gypsies each, chopper trip, road show, magnificent office buildings, foreign tour, etc?
•    Look at the way the politicians and the Bureaucrats functions.

Some of those who voted OTHERS had this to say:
•    I wonder! Whether the big-shots and politicians are at least learning something through these poll questions and reflections expressed by the public. Sadly the state govt of Nagaland has become a capitalist nation. The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer. There is a big chasm between the rich and poor. We can boldly and clearly say that the poor are being suppressed and oppressed economically by the rich. Unlike the hindu, we don’t practice caste system here but we can clearly see class system between the rich and poor.
•    Nagas were use to be known for loyalty and bravery...now, its totally the opposite.
•    The NPF government like any other government of Nagaland in the past is only concerned about themselves and the welfare of their kin. When we look at the Naga history, the state government has never been kind towards the lower section of the society. We must stop looking at the state government to bring solutions to our problems.
