Dimapur, March 16 (MExN): Health workers all Nagaland were honoured during the occasion of National Vaccination Day 2022. The state Chief Medical Officer (CMO) offices commemorated the day by felicitating the best performing health workers in the respective districts on March 16. 

National Vaccination Day is observed to spread awareness on the importance of vaccination and also to celebrate India’s victory over Polio virus. 

Dimapur: In Dimapur, 12 ASHAs and six ANMs were awarded with certificates at CMO’s conference hall. Dr I Moatemjen, CMO Dimapur gave away the certificates. The CMO also launched the COVID-19 vaccination for the age group of 12 to 14 years. 

Kohima: In Kohima, the CMO Office along with District Health Society, Department of Health & Family Welfare, NHM held the programme at CMO’s conference hall. The Department felicitated 12 ASHAs and seven ANMs under Kohima district.

Wokha: During the programme held at CMO’s conference hall, Wokha more than 20 health workers from five blocks were awarded with certificates and cash amount for their effort in immunization activities. Dr Zuben Kikon, Dy CMO, Wokha lauded the effort of health workers in the vaccination drive. Medical officers from Chukitong PHC, Nyiro PHC and Urban Primary Health Centre briefed the participants on the vaccination status in their respective health centres. 

Kiphire: The CMO Office Kiphire felicitated three ANMs and three ASHAs from the three blocks in the district during the National Vaccination Day. The programme was observed along with HCWs, awardees, and partner agencies—UNICEF, Mission Corona Vijay (Prodigal’s Home), Piramal Foundation, and Piramal Swasthya. Dr Pewezo Khalo, RMNCHA&N spoke on importance of the day. 

Mokokchung: In Mokokchung, best performing six ANMs and 12 ASHAs were felicitated at CMO’s conference hall. Dr Ayangla Saku, DPO (UIP&RCH) briefed about the significance of observing the National vaccination day; Dr Aonungdok, Dy CMO appraised the hard work of the Scientist responsible for the vaccines available till date, the Nurses, ASHAs and the beneficiaries; selected ANMs and ASHAs shared their experience in vaccination during the pandemic; Dr R Chubala Aier, CMO, Mokokchung addressed the gathering.

Peren: Eight ASHAs and five best performing ANMs under Peren district were felicitated on National Vaccination Day. The awardees were given certificates and cash amount for their selfless service towards vaccination drive carried out in the district.
Dr Keholi, DPO (RCH & UIP) gave the welcome address. Dr Lanuakum Aier, Dy CMO exhorted the participants with words of appreciation. 

Mon: In commemoration of National Immunization Day in Mon district, 20 Health Care Workers, 14 ASHAs and six ANMs were facilitated based on the coverage of the target cohort under the Polio National Immunization Day 2022. Short programmes were held in all the six blocks of the district. Dr Tinenlo James, DTO Mon at Mon Sadar encouraged all the staffs from grassroot to top level not to judge on what others are doing but to concentrate on one’s duty. The programme was held under the theme, ‘vaccines work for all.’
