Longleng, March 9 (MExN): Minister for Health & Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom inaugurated the Primary Health Centre of Sakshi, Pongo and Namching respectively on March 9.
In his inaugural speech at Sakshi PHC, Pangnyu asserted that Sakshi block is the most neglected part of the district lagging behind in infrastructure development and appealed to the Government officers and civil societies to give special attention for upliftment of Sakshi. He also urged the leaders of Sakshi to work harder with dedication for the benefit of the people. He informed that Sakshi was chosen as aspiration block by the DPDB under his leadership for development of Sakshi.
In Pongo PHC, Pangnyu said seeds of development sown today will benefit the people from generation to generation and called upon the department officials of H&FW to do the follow-up action and fulfill the needs of the health centers. He informed that in commemoration of India’s 75th Years of Independence both the central and state government is committed to bring health care facilities to the people at their doorstep. He therefore, exhorted the people to extend full cooperation and support to the health care workers and resolved any issues amicably.
In Namchan, the Minister informed the people that development of health care facilities was one of the priority commitments of the PDA Government. He informed that there are many non-functional health centers in the state and the department is trying to revamp it and make functional as committed to the people. He further thanked the officers and staffs of H&FW department for their support and cooperation rendered to him. He was optimistic that the upgraded PHCs under Longleng would also benefit the neighboring village of Tuensang and Mon district as it is well connected with them.
The Deputy Commissioner Longleng, M Shayung Phom in his short speech congratulated the H&FW department for upgrading more health centre in the district. He encouraged the people that landowners should not create hindrance to development but to take ownership of the health centers and cater best health care facilities to the people.
In Sakshi and Namching the CMO Longleng Dr Obangjungla proposed the Welcome address and briefed on the status of health unit while in Pongo Dr Philip Kent, Deputy CMO, Longleng pronounced the welcome address and briefed on the health unit under the PHC.
Dr Vitoka, Project Director, Directorate of H&FW; Dr Tiasunep Pongener, Joint Director, Directorate of H&FW and Dr Lemnyei Konyak Deputy Director, Directorate of H&FW also delivered short speeches respectively. Others who spoke on the occasion were Aye Keikung, President EYSU and Phulang Avennoho, public leader at Sakshi; Mylo Public Leader at Pongo and The President PPC and Bukshe, Public Leader at Namching.
A DIPR report stated that highlights of the programme were special number by Anyak Phom in Sakshi, Pongo Students’ Union and Namching Students’ Union respectively.
