The Nagaland Junior Girls basketball team qualified for the final phase of the competition, as the third placed team, in the recently concluded 72nd Junior National Basketball Championship (NE Zone). Meghalaya and Assam junior girls were the first and second placed teams respectively. In the Junior Boys section Mizoram, Manipur and Meghalaya qualified for the final phase of the Championship. The championship was hosted by Meghalaya Basketball Association under the aegis of Basketball Federation of India. It was held from October 14 to 17.
