Nagaland MRVC Campaign: 110690 children vaccinated till Oct 6

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 6 (MExN): A total of 27665 children were vaccinated on the third day of the Measles Rubella Vaccination Campaign (MRVC) which is currently underway. Altogether, 416 sessions conducted throughout the state.   With this, the total cumulative coverage stands at 110690 children vaccinated till the time of compilation of reports from the districts as on Saturday, the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare (DoHFW) has informed in a press release.  

Stating that India has resolved to eliminate Measles and control Rubella by 2020, the DoHFW said MR Vaccination Campaign has already been conducted in many states in the country with over 12 crore children vaccinated. 20 states have completed the campaign, while it is currently under progress in 7 states.  

In North East India, Mizoram, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh have successfully completed the MR Vaccination Campaign in their states.  

The DoHFW maintained that as day progresses, people are becoming more aware of the benefits to vaccinate their children. It also advised all parents to ensure that their children go to school on the day of the vaccination.  

For queries, parents can approach-Senior Medical Officers, Medical Officers, ANMs and ASHAs at the nearest health centers, the DoHFW informed while appealing all the parents to think wisely and not to compromise with the lives of their children.
