• Home is the first institution for every human being, parents should learn first and have to pass down to children by teaching what let civics sense to responsibility for day to day life practices and apply on for the society to improve
• Impose heavy fines for public spitting (e.g., 'Paan' and 'Gutkha') and littering, with enforcement by a community task force. Provide well-maintained public toilets with well-compensated caretakers. After conducting community-based workshops on proper waste disposal, install appropriate waste disposal bins at key locations.
• In schools, in Japan kids are taught to clean their class, wash and take care if their surroundings... It works for Japan
• It starts from home. Making it a habit. Make it your DNA. Pass the habit to your friends. Friend to their friends. Show it in the public, not demeaning but politely. Strict application in school and college institutions as well. In the end, Action is stronger than words.
• Keeping the dustbin in every corner of human inhabited areas across Nagaland taking initiatives also cleaning up every corner of household compound through encouraging students and youths as well the parents to do so
• Parents, leaders and teachers should first participate in civics life only then the young generation will follow up.
• Teach the child from early age. Be it at school or home. Parents and teacher has a huge role of inculcating the civic sense.
• The Concerned Village/Colony Councils and Youths organization should act tuff on the defaulters.
• Ways Nagaland can improve and build civic sense: • Teach civic sense in schools, churches & community platforms. • Regular colony/village cleanliness drives; adopt a street/market. • Provide dustbins, toilets & waste segregation facilities. • Enforce strict fines for littering, spitting & misuse of public spaces. • Give awards/incentives for the cleanest & most disciplined colonies. • Make civic responsibility a shared cultural & spiritual value.
