CM Rio extends Tokhu Emong greetings Dimapur, November 5 (MExN): The Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio has extended warm greetings to the Lotha Community on the festive occasion of Tokhu Emong, the post-harvest festival of Lotha Nagas. The chief minister, in a message through his official Twitter handle, wished for brotherhood, peace and oneness through the celebration. “May Almighty bless you all abundantly and the post-harvest festival foster brotherhood, peace and oneness,” he added.   Mass social work at Kiphire town on November 7 Kiphire, November 5 (MExN): Kiphire District Administration is organizing a mass social work at Kiphire town on November 7 in view of the scheduled Cabinet meeting. The social work will start from morning 6.00 am till 8.00 a, a DIPR release informed. During the mass social work, several unused vehicles, construction materials which is dumped along the roadside in the town causing undue congestion for the vehicular and human traffic besides disturbing the drainage channels leading to water clogging at various location will be removed. Water pipeline/ leaking pipes effecting movement of heavy vehicles have been asked to remove on or before November 7. It also informed that in the event of failure to comply with the order in time will compel the law enforcing agencies along with ward authorities to seize such materials without any further notice.   Zunheboto Police arrests 1 with IMFL Zunheboto, November 5 (MExN): Zunheboto Police while conducting frisking near Kitsukita village at Zunheboto- Mokokchung road, intercepted a suspected vehicle bearing NO NL07-A-7527 (Tata mobile) and recovered a total of 151 (One hundred fifty one) cases of IMFL Rum and 50 (fifty) cases of cane beer from the possession of one person namely Viyeto Ayemi (24). A release from Matsungshilu, Addl Superintendent of Police informed that a case has been registered for further investigation.   DC Kohima notifies to paint shops before November 15 Kohima, November 5 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Rajesh Soundararajan IAS has notified all concerned shop owners along NH-29 (Kohima-Dimapur Highway) to compulsorily paint their shops from Piphema to Khuzama Gate on or before November 15. The shop owners have also been directed to install at least one light bulb in front of each shop. A DIPR release stated that the order has been issued in view of the forthcoming Hornbill Festival and with a view to revamp the surrounding along the NH-29.   PSU appeals government employees to attend duties Phek, November 5 (MExN): The Pochury Students' Union has expressed anguish over HoDs and staffs posted under Meluri Sub Division for failing to attend their duties inspite of repeated calls. In a release issued by its President Er Joyson Yitsiithu, it has stated that “The absence and negligence of those concern government officials has brought many grievances to the general public.” Therefore, the office of the Pochury Students Union has “once again strictly warned those irresponsible officials and staffs to be present at the station and discharge their duties sincerely for the welfare and common good of the general public.” The office of the PSU will not be held responsible for any actions initiated against concerned officers or staffs by the Union or Higher Authorities, it further warned.   CSU convenes presidential meeting Pfutsero, November 5 (MExN): Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) has informed all federating units and subordinates units that a presidential meeting will be held on November 8, 10: 00 am at Pfutsero Town Hall.
