Total plastic ban in Mokokchung

Mokokchung, September 16 (MExN): The ADC & Administrator, Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC), W Manpai Phom has informed all the citizens that the government notification regarding total ban on all single use of plastic in Nagaland, “shall be strictly enforced and implemented within the MMC jurisdiction and defaulters shall be penalized as per the MMC notification issued earlier.” A DIPR report informed that non-woven poly propylene carry bags which are made of thermo plastic polymer also fall within the category of banned plastic item. “Therefore, sale and use of it is also strictly banned within Mokokchung Municipal Council jurisdiction,” it added.

 

NSCN (IM) Lotha Region on ‘illicit drug dealers’

Dimapur, September 16 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) parliamentarians of Lotha Region in a meeting held on July 23 at Hebron “unanimously resolved to take up strict preventive measures against the illicit Drugs dealers, peddlers and bootleggers under Lotha Region, with immediate effect.” This was informed in a press release issued by Mozamo Ngullie, Kilonser cum care taker CAI, Lotha region NSCN (IM). In regard to this resolution, Ngullie directed all concerned “to desist from the aforementioned activities which are detrimental to the well being of the society as a whole.” “This directive shall come into effect on publication of the same in the local media,” he informed and requested all “to co-operate towards the same to avoid inconveniences.” 

 

Free vaccination in Pughoboto

Zunheboto, September 16 (MExN): Free vaccinations for canine and feline species will be conducted at Veterinary Dispensary, Pughoboto from October 23, “till the stock lasts.” According to the Chief Veterinary Officer, Zunheboto this initiative has been taken up as a special drive “in curbing/controlling the dreaded disease on the request of Administration as well as SDPDB, Pughoboto.” A DIPR report requested the public of Pughoboto and its adjoining villagers to avail the facility by compulsorily immunizing their pet animals against the disease. 

 

NDPP WO presidents meet

Dimapur, September 16 (MExN): All the region presidents of Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) Nagaland Women Organization has been informed that there will be a consultative meeting on September 18 at NDPP Central head Quarter Chümuokedima  at 10:30 am. Dr Neikesalei Kire, Advisor Urban Development and Municipal Affairs will be the special guest, informed a press release issued by Vikali A Zhimomi, General Secretary Admin, NDPP Central. It requested four persons from each region to attend the meeting.

 

GPRN/NSCN condole demise of member

Dimapur, September 16(MExN): The GPRN/NSCN has expressed grief over the demise of Kuhokhe Awomi, Deputy Kilonser of Phuye Old Village, who passed away on September 16. He was 73 years of age. The GPRN/NSCN in a condolence message issued by its MIP Cell stated that Late Kuhokhe was a man of principles who committed to strive the people for the cause of the Naga Nation.“His contributions and service in various capacities since 1993 towards the Naga Nation shall be ever cherished and recorded in the pages of the Naga history. His demise has created a huge vacuum in the society in particular and organization in general,” it said. The GPRN/ NSCN conveyed its condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed to God to grant solace and comfort at this moment of grief and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

 

Hindi fortnight closing ceremony on September 18

Kohima, September 16 (MExN): The Hindi fortnight (Pakwada) organized by the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC), Kohima which began on September 3 will conclude on September 18. A press release issued by Uttam Chanda, Secretary TOLIC, Kohima and Deputy Accountant General (A&E) stated that the closing ceremony will be held  on September 18 at 1:00 pm at State Academy Hall, PR Hill Kohima under the chairmanship of Mhonbemo Patton, TOLIC, Kohima and Pr Accountant General (A&E) Nagaland.  Justice Urnanath Singh, Lokaukta Nagaland, Kohima will grace the closing ceremony as the chief guest. Other highlights of the programme includes: Hindi songs, solo dance presentation by students of Kendirya Vidhyalya; traditional dance performance by the staff of O/o the Pr AG office, Nagaland and Prize distribution. The programme will be attended by all the heads of central Government offices including staff members, Nationalized Banks, Public sector undertaking and Para Military stationed at Kohima. 

 

MLA Khalo visits A/C

Kohima, September 16 (MExN): The MLA of 17th Assembly Constituency (A/C) of Chizami, Kezhienyi Khalo visited his constituency on September 13. A press release issued by Elah, Press Secretary 17th A/C Chizami stated that Khalo visited the constituency “in order to have better cordial relationship with the constituency.” He visited SDO (C), police station, SBI, and also visited the patients of Primary Health Centre Chizami Town. It also stated that later, Khalo had an interaction with the public leaders and 17 A/C party office bearers where the HODs highlighted the grievances for the staff’s quarter and it’s high time to renovate the quarters. Meanwhile, the MLA also requested staffs, particularly HOD, to be in the station regularly for the welfare of the Chizami Area.
