TSUD fresher’s meet cum cultural day
Dimapur, September 22 (MExN): The Tenyimi Students' Union Dimapur (TSUD) will hold its 7th fresher’s meet cum cultural day on September 28 at Holy Cross Auditorium Hall under the theme, "Embracing Diversity, Celebrating Culture.” A press release issued by Azo Wetsah, President TSUD has invited all the students, seniors and well-wishers to attend the programme.
Awareness campaign on RPwD Act 2016 in Dimapur
Dimapur, September 22 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Kevekha Kevin Zehol has informed that a sensitization and awareness campaign on Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act 2016 for state government officials will be held at the Conference Hall of Deputy Commissioner on September 27 at 12:00 am. Secretary to the Government of Nagaland and Team Leader, K. Libanthung Lotha will address the gathering, informed a DIPR report. It further requested all the district Head of Departments along with Nodal Officers to attend the meeting.
MMC informs on waste collection schedule
MOKOKCHUNG, SEPTEMBER 22 (MExN): The ADC & Administrator, Mokokchung Municipal council (MMC), W Manpai Phom has informed that as part of observance of Swachhata Hi Seva- Cleanliness is Service 2019, the MMC will be carrying out a week long plastic waste collection drive in all the 18 wards of Mokokchung. Schedule of the Plastic Waste collection is as follows: Sungkumen, Tongdentsuyong and Alongmen wards on September 23 (Monday); Alempang, Dilong and Salangtem wards on September 24 (Tuesday); Aongza, Kichutip and Yimyu wards on September 25 (Wednesday); Kumlong, Mongsenbai and Marepkong wards on September 26 (Thursday); Penli, Sangtemla and Arkong wards on September 27 (Friday); and Majakong, Lijabalijen and Artang wards on September 28 (Saturday). The collection of plastic waste in all the wards will be carried out from 7:00am to 10:00 am.
PHED releases IEC materials
Kohima, September 22 (MExN): The Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) officially released Information, Education & Communication (IEC) materials pertaining to Swachhta Hi Seva (Cleanliness is Service) at PHED Chief Engineer Office, Kohima. It was released by PHED principal secretary MK Mero. After the service, a consultative meeting was held with the officials of the department to enable and empower the rural community to involve, build greater sense of belonging and to take more active role in shouldering the responsibility of managing water and sanitation system effectively throughout the state.
Cycle rally held in Dimapur
Dimapur, September 22 (MExN): As part of the series of events being conducted across the state to mark the National Nutrion Month, a cycle rally aimed to spread the importance of nutrition was flagged off from City Tower, Dimapur by Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Kevekha Kevin Zehol on September 21. A DIPR report stated that the Hutoi Sema, DPO Dimapur giving a brief overview on Poshan Abhiyan stated that Rastriya Poshan Abhiyan is the Prime Minister overarching scheme for holistic nourishment to strengthen and harmonize action for nutrition evidence gap in India. The objectives are to improve nutritional status of children from 0-6 years, adolescent girls, pregnant women and lactating mothers, he added. CDPO (U), Robert Odyuo delivered the vote of thanks. School children, Anganwati Workers and officials from different departments participated in the programme.
NSCN (IM) condoles demise of member
Hebron, September 22 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has expressed grief over the demise of Late Sergeant (Posthumous) Ramsowon Chithung of Ladies Unit, GHq, Naga Army. She passed away from Bungpa Khullen village under Wung Tangkhul Region, Dimapur on September 20. The NSCN(IM) in a condolence message issued by its MIP stated that Late Ramsowon joined the Naga National Service on September 15, 2010 and served the Naga nation “with unwavering national spirit” until her demise.“The void created by her demise will be difficult to fill in. For her selfless contribution to the Naga national cause, her name shall be recorded in the pages of Naga history and her sacrifices ever be cherished by all,” it said. It further conveyed its condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed to God to grant the departed soul an eternal peace and rest.
