EVC bans hunting

Wokha, February 28 (MExN): The Elumyo Village Council (EVC) has resolved that hunting within its jurisdiction is strictly prohibited from March 1 till the end of July. EVC Chairman, C Zumomo Tsanglao, in a press release said defaulter(s) shall be imposed a penalty of Rs 5000 as per the Village Council resolution no. 1 adopted on October 21, 2017.

ADC Mokokchung informs

Mokokchung, February 28 (MExN): As received from the Department of Power, Office of the Chief Engineer (Distribution & Revenue) Nagaland, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung, W Manpai Phom has informed that cables, wires, pipes etc strung between electric poles will not be permitted within the town limits. The ADC informed it hinders those involved in repair/maintenance works of lines besides increasing the probability of accidents/fatalities while maintaining the electricity lines. Therefore, it brought to the notice of all concerned that any type of cables, wires, pipes etc strung between electric poles within the town jurisdiction should be removed within 3 months from the date of this publication.

MTLT appeals for fair conduct of exams

Mokokchung, February 28 (MExN): The Mokokchung Town Lanur Telongjem (MTLT) has appealed the district Deputy Commissioner for fair conduct of examinations of recent advertised posts- Dobashi, LDA-cum-Computer Assistant, driver and Grade IV, according to the terms and conditions given. “If found any anomalies and unfairness during the conduct of the said examinations, the MTLT will pursue by using RTI as a tool to check by demanding re-evaluation,” stated a release from MTLT President. The union further appealed the office to be free of any political pressure and influence for the welfare of the people.

BBBP launched at Shamator

Tuensang, February 28 (MExN): Beti Bachao Beti Padhao under Shamator block was launched today by ADC Shamator T Lankonsen Tsanglao at Cultural hall, Shamator town. The keynote address was delivered by CDPO Shamator T Tinu Sangtam. Medical officer CMOs office Tuensang, SDEO Shamator Zerusie Nyusou, SDO (Soil & WC Shamator) Kum Zuchimi Ovung, President YWO and President YTC also spoke at the event. Earlier, the launching programme was presided over by Kum Newkai PG Teacher GHSS, Shamator while invocation was proposed by Rev R Thsankiu Pastor STBC.

Excise dept seizes huge quantities of IMFL

Dimapur, February 28 (MExN): The office of the Commissioner of Excise, Dimapur conducted a combined raid on illegal liquor on February 26 at various joints in Dimapur. The team led by Katoho Sumi, Assistant Commissioner of Excise (Enforcement) seized a total of 1056 bottles of assorted IMFL. Offenders were penalized under the Nagaland Liquor Total Prohibition Act 1989, Asst Commissioner of Excise (E), Katoho Sumi stated in the release and added that it will continue to conduct more surprise raids to control rampant flow of liquor in the state.
