
UNB Naga Colony distribute relief
Dimapur, April 1 (MExN): Keeping in mind the hard time faced by the residents due to the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown, the Muslim Society, United North Block, Naga Colony Burma Camp, Dimapur, on April 1 distributed relief to the poor and needy families of the colony. The relief comprising of essential commodities including rice, dal and mustard oil were distributed to around 400 households in the presence of the colony GB, Toshi Ozukum, who later acknowledged the Muslim Society, UNB Naga Colony Burma Camp Dimapur for their generous contributions towards the poor and the needy of the colony who are mostly daily wage earners.
MLAs to contribute one month’s salary to Medical Dept
KOHIMA, APRIL 1 (MExN): Extending support to the efforts of the Government in mobilizing resources to prevent the spread of Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) pandemic in the State, the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat has informed that all MLAs, cutting across party affiliations, have decided to contribute their one month's salary to the Medical Department, Government of Nagaland. This was done in response to the request made by the Minister for Health & Family Welfare, S. Pangnyu Phom to the Speaker, Sharingain Longkumer who took up the matter immediately with the respective Political parties. The party leaders unanimously agreed to the Speaker's suggestion to contribute one month's salary from all their MLAs, to the fund being mobilized for fighting the pandemic.
LMRSU says ‘all precautionary measures being taken’
DIMAPUR, April 1 (MExN): The Lotha Middle Range Students’ Union (LMRSU) has informed the public of the area that the authorities concerned are taking all precautionary measures to curb the spread of the COVID-19 virus and urged the people not to panic or disseminate misinformation. A press release from the LMRSU further asked the health department to set up a testing facility at Sanis Community Health Centre, as it meets the medical needs of the adjoining villages. DC Kohima informs vegetable vendors
KOHIMA, APRIL 1 (MExN): The Kohima DC has issued order permitting vegetable vendors to sell their goods at the following locations from 10:00am to 2:00 pm only: High School Junction, Pezielietsie, Tinpati, Razhü Point, TCP Gate, BOC junction. Social Distancing should be followed, for which KMC and SDRF officials have been entrusted with the task of making necessary markings. Vendors should possess valid trade license issued by KMC and vendors should use masks, hand gloves and sanitizers at all times.
DC Kohima bans jungle burning
KOHIMA, APRIL 1 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie NCS has issued an order directing all village council under Kohima district that the ban on jungle burning which is issued from time to time will continue to remain enforced.The DC Kohima has therefore directed all the village council under Kohima district jurisdictions to inform and warn the public to refrain from burning of jungle which causes serious loss of public property and disturbs the ecological balance. The order further stated that any violation of the order shall be penalized as per the ordered issues earlier.
