Nunumi village resolves

Zunheboto, February 8 (MExN): The village council and the Student’s Union of Nunumi village in the emergency meeting held on February 8 have resolved that the candidates of the forth coming NLA election 2018 are “Not allowed to use financial power to convince the electorate in the village.” Nunumi Village Council, Chairman, Yeshito Zhimomi and Nunumi Students Union, President, Akabo H Swu in a joint press release stated that no candidates are allowed to have public interviewed in the village. Any candidate or individual found using financial power or conducting interview as cited in the resolutions will be panelized. “The Youth Front of Nunumi Village and the Student's Union are informed and empowered to take necessary action as directed by the Village authority,” the release added.  

ANGDA (Central Committee) informs

Kohima, February 8 (MExN): The All Nagaland Government Drivers Association (Central Committee) have extended all possible help and assistance to monitor all the Government drivers detailed for election duty during the conduct of the Nagaland State General Assembly Election 2018. The Association further request all the drivers appointed in the election duty to discharge/perform their duties sincerely and punctually. This was stated in a press release issued by ANGDA (CC) President Neiviseituo and General Secretary, Neiketou.  

DC Kohima informs on exemption from election duty

Kohima, February 8 (DIPR): The DC and DEO Kohima Rajesh Soundararajan IAS has directed all concerned Government Employees who have been drafted for Election duty to the ensuing Legislative Assembly Election and have applied for exemption from Election duty on Medical grounds to appear before the Medical Board at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima on February 9 between 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. No further application will be accepted or entertained after February 9.  

Walk for democracy at Peren today

Peren, February 8 (DIPR): As part of the ‘clean election campaign’ initiative a walk for democracy under the banner ‘Walkathon’ will be organized at Peren town on February 9 at 10:00 a.m. The walk which will begin at Monday Bazar will culminate at Public Ground. Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Peren, Smita Sarangi, IAS, has invited all interested individual to participate at the programme.  

Scrap rate of condemned vehicles, machineries & unserviceable materials notified

Kohima, February 8 (DIPR): Transport Department in a notification on 30th January, 2018 has informed of the partial modification of the Department's Notification No. TPT/SPL-5/1/2012 (Pt-I) dated 14th March, 2012, on scrap rate of condemned vehicles, machineries and unserviceable materials. As per the notification, the scrap rate of condemned vehicles, machineries and unserviceable materials has been fixed at Rs. 15.00p per Kilogram with immediate effect. The notification has been issued with the concurrence of the Finance Department vide RFC No.256 Dated 15th November, 2017.  

Training for pol parties, agents in Tsg

Tuensang, February 8 (DIPR): Election Monitoring Cells including Election Expenditure Monitoring Cell, Media Certification and Monitoring Committee and Model Code of Conduct experts and Master Trainers on EVM and VVPAT conducted training for political parties and its agents at DC’s Conference Hall, Tuensang on February 8. Sr. Treasury Officer, Nodal Office for the cell, Imti Chang conducted the training on election expenditure monitoring while, DPRO and Nodal Officer for MCMC, Tialemba trained the participants on MCMC norms. Graduate Teacher, GHSS, Thangjam, H.P Gupta impressed on the participants the Model Code of Conduct and the Master Trainers on the administration, procedure and hand training of EVM and VVPAT machines. Deputy Commissioner, Tuensang, L. Jamithung Lotha earlier briefed the gathering about the training.
