PTCSU 1st union assembly held

Phek, September 9 (MExN):  The first Union Assembly of the Phek Town Chakhesang Students' Union (PTCSU) for the tenure 2018-20 was held at PTC Conference Hall on September 7 last. Among others, the assembly discussed matter relating to revision of tuition fee, COTPA, school inspection by DEO, SUPW supervision, excess contribution of money in various schools, shortage of teacher, bus and library installment at Government Higher Secondary School Phek, proper implementation of Inner Line Proper (ILP) in the town etc. The union assembly was chaired by PTCSU union assembly speaker Surhoveyi Khesoh.

 

PBCA to host women convention

Longleng, September 9 (MExN): The Phom Baptist Christian Association (PBCA) will be organizing a women convention from October 11 to 13, at PBCA convention Hall, Longleng under the theme ‘Phenomenal Women.’ The resource persons will be P Angbhen, Women Secretary PBCA; M Hongla Phom, Programme Executive, Directorate General, AIR New Delhi and Dr Wungtei Buchem, Vice Chancellor's Indian PhD Post-Doc fellow, University of Sheffield UK.
 

Coaching for class 10 repeaters begins 

Wokha, September 9 (MExN): Coaching classes for class 10 repeaters started on September 9 at Wokha District Public Library located at Government Higher Secondary School, Wokha, which was formally inaugurated by Women Welfare Officer (MSK) Dr. Wonchibeni E Enny. According to a DIPR report, Dr. Enny while inaugurating the coaching class for the repeaters encouraged the students’ to step up the right track in decision making and to take this privilege for better future. She added studies can be more enjoyable when you approach it with fresh and refreshed mind and urged them not to be discouraged for the past failure but to rededicate themselves and learn from the past mistakes to make a successful career and successful person in life. The coaching class was initiated by the District Administration in collaboration with Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK) Wokha, on the theme “Arise and Shine” under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP). Around 48 students have enrolled for the coaching and more is expected to join the coaching class in the next few coming days.

 

KCSU general session cum fresher’s social

Kohima, September 9 (MExN): The 58th General Session cum Fresher’s Social of the Kohima Chakhesang Students' Union (KSU) will be held on September 14 at State Academy Hall, under the theme, “Prism of Possibilities.” MP Rajya Sabha and Secretary General, NPF K G Kenye will grace the occasion as the guest speaker and Kekhriezavi Lea, OSD to Geology and Mining, Government of Nagaland as the session speaker. KCSU General Secretary, Khrokute Lohe in a press release has informed that “all the Members of the Union living in and around Kohima are mandatory to attend the programme with one traditional attire”. It also invited the senior leaders and parents to grace the occasion.

 

Nagaland to celebrate ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’

Kohima, September 9 (MExN): A six-weeks long ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ (SHS) will be celebrated with large scale participation from citizens, as a part of 150th Birth Anniversary Celebrations of Bapu. In response to the clarion call given by the Prime Minister of India, ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ will commence on September 11, on the anniversary of Swami Vivekananda historic speech at the Parliament of World Religions in Chicago, and will continue till October 27, i.e. Deepavali Day, the festival of lights, in three phases, with the theme of "Plastic Waste Shramdaan. Accordingly, the State will celebrate the launching of ‘Swachhata hi Seva’ on September 11 at DC’s Conference Hall, Kohima at 10:00 AM with Minister for PHED, Jacob Zhimomi as the special guest. Founding member of Green Team Kohima, Thangi Manen will give the keynote address.

 

National Pension System workshop held

Kohima, September 9 (MExN): The Department of Treasuries & Accounts is organizing one day workshop on National Pension System (NPS) on September 11 at the level of HODs in the Conference Hall of the Directorate of Treasuries and Accounts, Kohima. In the meantime, the Department of Treasuries & Accounts and the Ministry of Income Tax, Guwahati is also jointly organizing a seminar on the subject “Seminar/Awareness Programme on TDS” at the level of State Treasury Officers on September 12 from 11:00 A.M. in the same Conference Hall.

 

NSDMA notifies on annual NEPEx 

Kohima, September 9 (MExN): Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) is scheduled to conduct the Annual Nagaland Emergency Preparedness Exercise (NEPEx) on November 26 at respective districts to test the capability of the Government of Nagaland to respond and to manage any mega impending disaster. Therefore, as a precursor to the NEPEx, one day table top exercise is being organised for the AHODs/HODs and DDMA officials on October 24 at ATI, Kohima. The AHODs/HODs of all concerned departments and two officials each from District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) have been requested to make it convenient to participate in the programme.
