Peren District AIDS Prevention & Control Unit conducted the College level and school Level competition on HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Blood donation celebrating New India @75 years of Independence (Azaadi Amrit Mahotsav). The competition was held under the chairmanship of DC Peren Sentiwapang Aier, Deputy Commissioner, Peren. A plantation drive was carried out on April 5 at the proposed Chümoukedima Town Council Public Park. The plantation was carried out by Chümoukedima Town Council in collaboration with Chümoukedima Town Students Union, the drive started with Abhinav Shivam, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Chümoukedima planting the first tree at the park along with his wife. Er Seyiekhrietuo Solo, Administrator CTC, once again appealed to the general public that the Public Park is being built by CTC with the help of the community and invited one and all to come plant flowers/greens if interested and suggest ideas to help make the park a reality. The much awaited NST service was flagged off by S Keoshu Yimkhiung, Advisor I&PR and VG, Government of Nagaland on April 5. Lima Sunep, Jt GM NST, Thsuvisie Phoji DC Shamator, Kiumukam President Chessore Area Public Forum and Throngkiuba Hd GB Chessore also spoke during the occassion. District Mission Authority Samagra Shiksha Tuensang conducted assessment camp in all the five blocks viz Longkhim, Noksen, Hakushang, Shamator and Noklak from March 18 to 23. CWSN children were assisted by Sound Beatz Pvt Ltd New Delhi, TPORC Imphal and Medical Department and Officials from State Mission Authority and District Mission Authority. The following categories of CWSN such as Visual impairment, Locomotor and Hearing Impairment were screened during the camp between age group 6 to 14 years. A coordination meeting to conduct a mock drill was held on April 5 at the DC office Chümoukedima. DC & Chairman DDMA Chümoukedima, Abhinav Shivam IAS who chaired the meeting highlighted the purpose and importance of the mock drill slated for April 8. Wokha Forest Division conducted workshops on beekeeping at Nature Learning Centre, Forest Office Complex, Dimapur on April 4 and 5. The programme, under the aegis of National Mission on Himalayan Studies (NMHS), Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change, GoI was organised in convergence with the Nagaland Beekeeping and Honey Mission (NBHM). NBHM experts, Nzanbemo K Lotha, Team Member NBHM and MhathungTsopoe, Team Member NBHM were the resource persons. Around 200 participants from around eight villages in and around Dimapur participated.
