The 26th general body meeting cum of the Naga Students’ Union Punjab formerly known as the Naga Students’ Union Phagwara, was held at Nawab Gardens, Phagwara, on May 4. The meeting was followed by a farewell programme for the outgoing students, a press note informed. The students’ body has urged all students in Punjab to register with them in order to facilitate a comprehensive census and support network for mutual assistance during times of need.

NSS Unit St. Joseph's College, (Autonomous) Jakhama conducted Special Camp at Mima village from May 2 to 5. Altogether, 34 volunteers along with 2 POs attended the camp.

A Sports and Scripture Engagement program organized by the ABAM Youth Ministry for Zone 8 & 9 was successfully held at Padumpukhuri Ao Baptist Church on May 2 & 3, 2024. Resource persons were Dr Viposa Kiso, Putinok, Toshi Sanglir, Secretary, ABAM YM, & Tekatemjen, Coordinator, ABAM YM. A press note issued by Rev Dr Mar Pongener, Executive Secretary, ABAM stated that sports is an activity that focuses on a person's holistic development and fitness. It shapes the individual's personality and provides an enormous opportunity to acknowledge God's ultimate source of the talents given to the individual. Importantly, it allows the church to take the Gospel beyond the four walls of the church building and reach out to many outside the church. Realizing the strength and importance of sports in strengthening the Youth Ministry, this program was organized.  Altogether 53 youths from 14 churches attended the programme.

Assam Rifles in its endeavour to promote physical fitness and healthy lifestyle celebrated World Athletics Day by organising an Athletics Festival including 100m and 400m relay race, shot put and javelin throw competitions at Vijaynagar, Arunachal Pradesh. The event witnessed participation by 60 students and 2 teachers of Vijaynagar Public School and troops of Assam Rifles. The event culminated with prize distribution followed by light refreshments for all attendees. All locals appreciated the efforts of Assam Rifles.

In the run up to World Environment Day on June 2024, Assam Rifles launched Meri LiFE initiative on May 5 at Jairampur in Changlang district, Arunachal Pradesh. During the event, the troops were briefed about the LiFE – Life For Environment initiative launched by Indian Government as a mass movement for “mindful and deliberate utilization, instead of mindless and destructive consumption of resources” to protect and preserve the environment. This was followed by a solemn pledge by the troops to make changes in their daily life to protect environment and motivate others regarding the same.
