Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) today celebrated Advent Christmas at Naga Solidarity Park, Kohima. Sharing Christmas greetings, S Supongmeren Jamir, former general secretary NSF said, “The NSF should always serve the people and lead the society.” ‘We have to project new approach and vision for the welfare and upliftment of the society. NSF should always stand for unity of the Nagas,’ he added. In the welcome address, NSF President Medovi Rhi said, “May this Christmas bring you all happiness and joy.” Chairing the programme, NSF General Secretary Chumben Khuvung said “Christmas is a time for love, hope and togetherness.” Earlier, Vikuyole Tase presented special number while Pithungo Shitio invoked God’s blessings.
Central Institute of Horticulture, Nagaland organised one-day farmers’ training on post harvest management and packaging technology of pineapple at Molvom village on December 19. The training was organised with the objective to provide technical knowledge for maintaining the quality of pineapples through various post harvest operations and packaging methods. The resource persons were Prabin Das, Marketing Specialist, CIH and Dr Moasosang Longkumer, Asst Horticulture Specialist, CIH. Altogether, 71 participants comprising of pineapple growers and FPC members from Molvom village attended the training.
Deputy Commissioner Kohima office celebrated Advent Christmas cum picnic at Puliebadze base camp, Jotsoma, Kohima on December 19. DC Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant, IAS extended Christmas greetings, emphasising the spirit of sharing joy with families and friends. He urged everyone to embrace kindness, unity, and empathy, encouraging a focus on spreading happiness rather than dwelling on past regrets, a DIPR report stated. DC Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant IAS along with Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kohima and District Project Associate (District Disaster Management Authority) Kohima during the handover of ex-gratia relief to the family of the deceased who was hit by a concrete wall that fell upon him and later succumbed to his injuries in DC’s Office Chamber Kohima on December 20.
The 10 day National Integration Tour of 20 students from Kohima, Nagaland, reached Shillong, Meghalaya. The participants interacted with Phagu Chauhan, Governor of Meghalaya at Raj Bhavan, Shillong, stated a press release received here. During the meeting, the Governor highlighted the significance of national integration and mentioned that young people play an important role towards building a strong and united India. He also encouraged the children to pursue their dreams and make the most of their educational opportunities. The NIT is scheduled to be flagged-in on December 22.
