A one day farmers training on ‘value addition of horticulture crop for livelihood’ was organized by Central Institute of Horticulture, DAC & FW, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, Medziphema for the women of Medziphema town on May 22. The training was organized with the objective to impart technical knowledge on processing and value addition of horticulture crops such as preparation of pickle, ketchup and squash etc. Altogether, 54 participants attended the training programme wherein certificates and training materials were also distributed to all the participants.
One day women-centred medical camp was organised by 45 AR at Sotokur village on May 23, initiated by Shekinah Christian Foundation, an NGO, which carries out various activities in the area, especially related to women and youth. More than 400 people turned up for medical checkup. Solar lamps were also distributed to some poor Women by Col. Mohit Singh, Sena Medal, Commandant 45 AR, Shamator.
A felicitation programme for successful candidates of HSLC examination was held at Christian High School (CHS), Shamator on May 21. A press release from Yaner, Assistant teacher stated that Dr. S J Akhum durig his address lauded the students for bringing laurels and encouraged the students to achieve greater heights in their higher pursuit of quality education.
