A total of 65 teacher trainees (second semester) from Mokokchung College of Teacher Education (MCTE) undertook a field trip to the villages of Longkhum and Mopugchuket on May 18 and 19. At Longkhum, they visited the famous ‘Longlangba’ or stone bridge, witnessed the footprints of Jina and Etiben on the rocks, and explored the ‘Mongzu Ki’ or Eagles’s Caves. At Mopungchuket Village, the trainees took notes of various artifacts displayed at the village museum, visited the two prominent towers built in memory of the legendary lovers from the village ‘Jina’ and ‘Etiben’ and the tourist attraction ‘Sungkotenem’ lake. They also stopped at adjacent Impur where they visited the Museum and the ‘Pilgrims Park’ besides others.

St. Stephens Hr. Sec. School, Dimapur held its Cultural Day programme on May 21 with the theme Celebrating Cultural Diversity. It was conducted by the Cultural Club of the School led by their Club Teachers in-charge, Vivi Yepthomi. Lomi A Yepthomi of class 12 (Arts) delivered speech based on the theme. Performance of folk song from a group of different standard was also presented. The day ended with a cultural show by junior presenting various cultural attires.[/caption]
