Aleyzeza Leyri, a class 10 student of Fernwood School Kohima, the lone student from Nagaland under NBSE (Nagaland Board Of School Education) was one among the 74 selected students to join Prime Minister, Narendra Modi to witness the moon landing of  “Chandrayaan – 2” live at ISRO Control Room, ISRO Telemetry Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC) in Bangaluru on September 7, at 1:55 am. Leyri was selected through online examination to represent Nagaland after winning “Space Quiz 2019” organized by MyGov.in in collaboration with the Indian Space Research Organization. The landing of Chandrayaan – 2 was expected to make India the fourth country in the world to successfully land on the moon after Russia, USA and China. (Photo Courtesy: Fernwood School)
