Peren, October 19 (MExN): The Jalukie Assam Rifles Battalion under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) organised a National Integration Tour from October 3 to 16 for students and teachers of Peren district.
18 students and 2 teachers visited New Delhi, Chandigarh and the historical city of Amritsar. The students also had the opportunity to witness the ‘Beating Retreat’ ceremony at the Wagah border at Amritsar.
During the tour, students met and interacted with Maj Gen Rajpal Singh Punia, YSM, Chief of Staff, Delhi Area. The COS took keen interest in interacting with the students and motivated them to inculcate sound values and grow up to become model citizens.
During the flagging in ceremony organized at Battalion Headquarter on October 17, the students were encouraged to utilize the experience gained during the visit and imbibe the positive values of people from different states of India.
