NEISSR, Chümoukedima continued its celebration of the 4th day of National Social Work Week on August 20.

Chümoukedima, August 20 (MExN): North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR), Chümoukedima continued its celebration of the 4th day of National Social Work Week with a focus on the theme “School Social Work: Opportunities and Challenges” on August 20.
A debate on the topic “do school social workers effectively bridge the gap between home and school?” was conducted, with Barnabas, MSW 3rd Semester, serving as the debate moderator. The speakers included Sr Magdelena, Nikaho, Filoka, and Tshekukhro-u Akami, who each shared their perspectives on the subject. Dr Toli Kiba, Assistant Professor NEISSR, outlined the criteria for the debate.
After the debate, feedback was provided by Barnic, Assistant Professor, NEISSR. He emphasised the important role of social workers in addressing societal issues like education crises, poverty, and corruption. He stressed that social workers should be a voice against corruption and should implement policies within schools.
Following his remarks, Dr Toli Kiba, Assistant Professor NEISSR announced the debate results: Ms. Akami took first place, Filoka came second, Sr Magdelena third, and Nikaho fourth. All participants received certificates.
