The Gariphema Chapter 2.0 of the 1st Presidential Trophy 2024 of the Northern Angami Youth & Sports Association Group- D (NAYSA-D) took place today at Gariphema Ground.
In Football (Men), Chiechama defeated Tsiemekhuma Bawe 10-0 in the first match while Tuophema registered win over Nachama 7-1 in the second match.
In the third match, Seiyhama overpowered Botsa 5-1.
In Volleyball (Women), Seiyhama defeated Botsa by two straight sets while Chiechama declared winner by walkover in the second match.
Gracing the Gariphema Chapter 2.0, Northern Angami Public Organization Group-D president Neisakholie Riipreo urged upon the players to take up sports in a professional manner.
He appreciated the organizer NAYSA-D for providing a good platform for grooming up young sportspersons.
Earlier, NAYSA-D women co-ordinator Vikehenuo Zumvii chaired the programme while welcome address was delivered by Vikholie Kire, president Gariphema Village Youth Organization (GVYO).
Vote of thanks was proposed by GVYO vice president (Games & Sports) Krupa Chiese.
Kohima District Football Referees Association (KDFRA) officiated football matches and women’s volleyball by NAYSA-D Referee Board.
