Dimapur, March 10 (MExN): The North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR) and Don Bosco College, Maram, Manipur organised a collaborative journey through a student exchange programme aimed at enhancing knowledge and experience in the field of social work. 

This endeavor not only sought to bridge geographical boundaries but also aimed to cultivate a deeper understanding of social work practices and methodologies, exchange of insights and practices. The session commenced with welcome note by Dr Fr CP Anto, Principal NEISSR and Elizabeth Pojar, Assistant Professor at NEISSR, provided the insightful introduction to the institute's mission, vision and best practices with distinctiveness, a press release issued by NEISSR desk informed. 

Following this, Lokho Athishu, faculty-in-charge of Don Bosco College offered a glimpse into the ethos of Don Bosco College and articulated the purpose of the visit- to enrich the students' knowledge and experience in social work. 

Both institutes shared insights into their unique practices, emphasizing the importance of community engagement, practical learning experiences, and the role of social work in addressing societal challenges.  

The highlight of the session was the interactive question and answer segment, where students and faculty members from Don Bosco College shared their innovative initiatives, including rural camps, computer classes, counseling sessions, and various competitions and programs. They also reflected on their experiences of engaging closely with society as social work students. 

NEISSR representatives reciprocated by elaborating on peace channel, specialized areas, experiences, challenges, and opportunities within the field of social work. The exchange of ideas and experiences enriched both parties, fostering a sense of camaraderie and mutual learning.

The programme culminated with vote of thanks by James Phanungkiu, President of SCSC, NEISSR.
