KOHIMA: P. Longon, Minister of Land Revenue today confirmed that the Government had acquired Land for construction of Nagaland University, Kohima Campus and that the site was located at Merema Village area of Kohima District. Replying this to MLA, Supongmeren’s query at the session today, the Minister stated that 200 acres of land have been earmarked and temporary site allotment has already been issued by the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima to the NU and that the handing over of the land through Lease Deed is under process.
In reply to the query about the rate at which the land per acre was purchased, Longon said the compensation rate per acre was paid under two categories, where land with slope of 0 to 50 degree were Rs. 1,40,000 and land with slope of 50 degree and above was Rs 1,00,000.
