
Unidentified ailing man dies in hospital DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 2 (MExN): An unidentified man, suspected to be a non-local, passed away at the District Hospital, Dimapur on October 1. According to the police, the deceased was found in a “semi-conscious” state on September 30 near ZHRC junction in Purana Bazaar. He was admitted to the District Hospital, where he passed away on October 1, the police informed, adding that the body was taken to the morgue for post-mortem and identification. Believed to be around 60 years of age, dark complexioned and around 5.5 feet in height, the police added that no claimant has so far appeared to claim the body. Nagaland RJD informs Dimapur, October 2 (MExN): As per the direction given by the party central office, the Nagaland State Rashtriya Janata Dal has resolved to participate in the upcoming Municipal and Town Council elections in all the districts of the state. Hill Kohima, October 2 (MExN): A fire broke out at Lower P.R. Hill colony on September 29 around 5:40 pm. No casualties were reported, informed a press release from Lower P.R. Hill Youth Organization. The organization through its Asst. Information & Publicity Secretary, Neitho-o Suohu lauded the Fire & Emergency Department for their “sincere and prompt service” in preventing the fire. Further, the youth organization requested all the citizens of Kohima and elsewhere to utilize the helpline number provided by the Fire Department for its full support and service whenever necessary. AR arrest ‘arms peddlers’ Dimapur, October 2 (MExN): Troops of 32 Assam Rifles along with police representatives apprehended two alleged “arms peddlers” in an operation carried out in Phuwoto on September 27. A press release from the AR PRO identified the two as Viketo Sochemi (40 years) and Phuhoto Yeptho (41). During the search, three .22 rifles and one .22 Pistol were recovered, the AR release stated. The recovered items along with the two arrested individuals were later handed over to Nuiland Police Station, Dimapur for further investigation. KGPO warns against ‘surpassing’ resolutions Dimapur, October 2 (MExN): The Kuhuboto Ghakhu Public Organization (KGPO) and its frontal organizations have warned individuals and organizations that it will take serious course of action against those who “surpass” KGPO in any kind of activities in the area. KGPO along with its frontal organizations held a meeting at SDO (Civil) conference hall on September 30 and discussed various issues in connection with the area, stated a press release issued by KGPO President, Ghishito Shohe and General Secretary, Z. Ato. In the meeting, the KGPO took serious note of various individuals and organizations “surpassing” KGPO resolutions and norms, the release added. Lakhuti village repairs road Wokha, October 2 (MExN): The Lakhuti village public led by the Chairman of the village council Mmhonthung Yanthan conducted mass social work and repaired the road between Lakhuti and Sunglup, which is in pitiable condition. The chairman stated in a press release that MLA N. Thomas Lotha appreciated the good work initiated by the village council. He requested the public to continue doing such good work for the people at large with or without getting any support from the government. He also expressed his displeasure as the State government is not doing justice to the public of 39 Sanis Assembly Constituency. Konngam Konyak, Ex-Minister, in a short speech exuded confidence in the new office bearers and urged them to work together to strengthen the party. Divisional in-charge Nokho Konyak, encouraged party leaders to unite and work harder in order to strengthen the NPF party and the need to prepare for the coming general election, a press release stated.
