NF Railway to improve railway network in Manipur

Maligaon, September 22 (MExN): To further improve railway network in Manipur, Anshul Gupta, General Manager of Northeast Frontier Railway (NF Railway) inspected Jiribam station in Manipur on September 22.

The General Manager conducted follow up inspection of Minister of State of Railways, Coal & Mine Raosaheb Patil Danve who recently conducted inspection of various project sites of the ongoing Jiribam–Imphal new BG railway line project. Gupta was accompanied by the Divisional Railway Manager of Lumding division JS Lakra and senior railway officers during inspection. The General Manager discussed about measures for introduction of more trains, improvement of safety and passenger amenities. 

It may be mentioned that passenger train service was re-introduced between Jiribam of Manipur and Silchar of Assam during last month to fulfil long standing requirement of the people of Manipur. He visited Jiribam goods shed and discussed about further improvement of freight business. He also conducted window trailing inspection between Jiribam and Lumding.

Gupta also inaugurated the new building of Divisional Railway Hospital at Lumding. The building named as 'Rail Sanjeevani' has been dedicated to the division by the General Manager in the presence of GK Chakraborty, Principal Chief Medical Director, NF Railway and JS Lakra, Divisional Railway Manager. The building has been provided with fire hydrant to mitigate the threat of fire hazard. An oxygen plant of 100 LPM has been installed first time in NF Railway which will provide direct supply of oxygen to the patient in the wards.
