The meeting was attended by Foothills Road Contractors, the Divisional EE’s of PWD(R&B), the Young Naga Action Committee on Foothills Road and the Office bearers of the Dimapur based Tribal Hohos.

The meeting also resolved to construct the road in consonance with the specification as mentioned in the Term of Reference (TOR) or Detailed Project Report (DPR) and further expedite the work to be completed at the earliest.

The concerned contractors are not permitted to sublet to any third party agencies or firms in order to maintain the quality of works, another resolution stated.

The meeting also re-affirmed to restrict any member (of the Committee) to partake in the Foothills Road construction as a contractor.

The meeting also resolved to appeal to the Department not to deduct any percentage of any form except the compulsory statutory fees and release final bill payment would be done only after joint inspection by the concerned Department and the Committee.

“If any misunderstanding/dispute arises in any area while executing the work the same shall be immediately communicated to the NFHRCC with a view to avoid any unwanted situations,” stated another resolution.

“And if situation demands the NFHCC will assigned to the appropriate forum in order amicably settle the matter,” it said.

Further, it reaffirmed that the Foothills road can be taken neither as border road nor as a border demarcation.

Meanwhile, it further resolved to invite other Naga Tribes such as the Angami, the Chakhesang and the Pochury to be a part of the NFHRCC.

The Committee further decided to undertake a joint tour programme in the entire stretch from Niuland to Tizit within March.

It also resolved to acknowledge the active participation of the respective Tribal Hohos, the Young Nagas Action Committee on Foothills Road, the ENSF and the CNSA for their unflinching support to the NFHRCC in making the Naga Historic Road initiatives unconditionally.

The meeting also resolved to acknowledged the Government of Nagaland under the leadership of the Chief Minister N Rio, Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton and the Department of PWD( Road & Bridges) for their collective support to make the “Naga historic road a reality.”
