NFR gets ISO certified Disaster Management Resource Centre

Maligaon, September 9 (MExN): A new Zonal Disaster Management Resource Centre has been opened recently at the Northeast Frontier Railway Headquarter in Maligaon, by NFR General Manager Sanjive Roy in presence of NFR Addl General Manager Radhey Raman, representatives from 1st Battalion NDRF, Principal Chief Safety Officer, NFR and other senior officials of the headquarter.

The facilities of this centre are updated as per ISO 9001-2015 certification requirement to deal with any type of disaster, informed the NFR’s Chief Public Relations Officer Subhanan Chanda.

The centre is equipped with facilities to aid in achieving a quick disaster response and ensuring immediate attention to injured persons in case of railway mishaps by ensuring appropriate co-ordination between different departments of railways apart from civil authorities, it said.

The overall objective of this Disaster Management Resource Centre is to convey and apprise officers and officials of their roles and responsibilities to minimise the possibility of loss of life and property during any disaster, it added.
