NGRC-I CU endorses blacklisting of firm for submitting fake documents

Dimapur, September 30 (MExN): The Nagaland Govt. Registered Class-1 Contractors’ Union (NGRC-1 CU) today endorsed ACAUT Nagaland’s demand for blacklisting a firm “M/s Naga Commercial Enterprise” for allegedly submitting fake documents in the open tender process.

It also demanded suspension of the Superintendent Engineer, Police Engineering Project, Nagaland, Kohima “from service for issuing fake documents namely the work order -‘Construction of permanent Barrack(36*24) inclusive of kitchen (18*12) and toilet (16812)-12 nos at 13th NAP(IR) Battalion Yachang, Nagaland’ in favour of M/S Naga Commercial Enterprise, Govt. Regd. Contractor & Supplier, Dimapur.”

The NGRC-1 CU in a press statement from its President Seyiekuolie said that receiving a complaint letter from another firm, the Union came to learn that “the Solvency Certificate from Vijaya Bank Dimapur” issued by Superintendent Engineer “was found to be fake.”

“M/S Naga Commercial Enterprise was detected in submitting these fake documents to the tender committee i.e Nagaland University in the open tender process,” it added.

NGRC-1 CU further said that it was also “very unbecoming on the part of university tender committee for considering the tender despite of producing the said fake documents including a fake work order namely.”

In this connection, the union had submitted a representation to the competent authority “with a demand to black list the firm at the earliest and immediately suspend the concerned engineer from service and allow the appropriate legal action against them for the interest of justice.

The Union had also written to Nagaland University to take immediate necessary actions against the firm and also cancel the said work order awarded in favour of the firm, it added.

NGRC-1 CU further extended its fullest support to the ACAUT Nagaland especially “the resolutions adopted on 25th August 2017 Public Rally in the demand to set up Lokayukta in Nagaland so as to check all forms of corruption, mismanagement and siphoning of public of public funds and also to immediately terminated all back door appointments made post June 6, 2016.”

The Union will continue to fight for a powerful/independent Lokayukta in the state with a strong objection to include any provision of prosecution sanction so as not to allow the setting up of Lokayukta in Nagaland to be like another Nagaland State Vigilance Commission where the actions/investigation solely depends on the granting of prosecution sanction to be given by the state government, it added.

NGRC-1 CU maintained that Lokayukta is the need of the hour and it should be allowed to punish public servants involved in corruption so as to curb the menace of corruption prevailing in the state.
