NH project: Maram students body urges companies to prioritise quality

Senapati, September 25 (MExN): The Maram Students' Union (MKS) has appealed the construction companies to execute the work on the National Highway (NH) – 2 and NH 129A as per the standards and specifications laid down by the Ministry.

In Maram area of Tumuyon Khullen stretch of NH-2, Leckon Company is executing the four-lane construction while in the Maram-Peren NH-129A, Ram Ram and CSR Companies are taking up the double-laning  work, the Union stated in a press release on Friday.

In this connection, the union stated that during the 1st Federal Assembly held on September 11 at Tumuyon Khullen,  the MKS had viewed that ongoing mega project was a rare ‘gift’ by Government of India to the people. “As such, MKS felt that it has become moral responsibility of the local people to ensure maximum support and co-operation to working agency wherever the ongoing work takes place,” it said.

As such, the MKS appealed the companies to maintain quality workmanship by giving priority on durability of the road and ensure timely completion of mega projects. The union would monitor and visit sites of construction, from time to time to see no irregularities and anomalies take place during the working period.

Further, keeping in mind that Government of India and State Government have sanctioned the ongoing mega projects for welfare of the people, inconveniences caused to personnel of working agency shall not be tolerated at any cost, the MKS asserted.
