Dimapur, July 24 (MExN): The newly renovated conference and training hall of the Nagaland Handloom & Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd (NHHDC) in Half Nagarjan, Dimapur, was inaugurated by Prasielle Pienyu, Chairman of NHHDC Ltd on July 24.
The event was attended by Er Y Lipongse Thongsar, Managing Director of NHHDC Ltd and Additional Director of Industries & Commerce, Government of Nagaland, along with NHHDC officers and staff.
An update received here stated that the Chairman, in his speech, stressed the importance of working collectively towards achieving the goal of upliftment of the socio-cultural lives of the weavers and artisans. In view of the ever changing market demands, the requirement for need based product production and technological upgradation of tools and machinery the local weavers and artisans should be prioritized, he added.
Alongside the inauguration of the conference and training hall, a seminar-workshop will be held to enhance the skills of the Corporation’s officers and staff. The event will cover key topics such on understanding business concept, marketing, importance of preserving traditional knowledge on Handloom and Handicrafts products and process and building awareness on various schemes and programmes of the government relating to the Handloom and Handicrafts sector.
