She appreciated the existing service rule of the department which is divided into different category and manpower being posted in the entire category prior to their promotion. She also stressed on the formation of state task force for creation of Public Health Cadre under the chairmanship of the Commissioner & Secretary, DoHFW.

Y Kikheto Sema stated that when it comes to health there is a huge challenge especially due to the geographical and topographical uniqueness of the state. Towards this, he requested the Government of India to consider the constraints of the region while planning policies since whatever is applicable in the mainland will not be practical for the hilly area. He added that the state is working towards providing cashless health care through the Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme (CMHIS) and Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY).

Kikheto also talked about how Nagaland is in the process of reviving communitisation by involving community, NGO for better delivery system for which the GoI’s support was sought.
The NHSRC & RRC-NE team also visited health units in Dimapur.
