KOHIMA, JANUARY 15 (MExN): The Nagaland Medical Council (NMC) has directed all allopathic medical practitioners serving or practicing modern medicine in the state to ensure compliance with the mandatory registration requirements under the Nagaland Medical Act 2014.
In the circular, the NMC emphasized that all allopathic medical practitioners working in any capacity within Nagaland—whether in private clinics, hospitals, nursing homes, or other healthcare facilities—must ensure they are registered with the Council. This includes allopathic doctors employed in Central Government services and those visiting the state from outside Nagaland to conduct medical camps or offer consultations.
Additionally, the NMC reminded Registered Medical Practitioners (RMPs) already enrolled with the Council that they must renew their registration every five years to maintain their valid registration status, as per the provisions of the Nagaland Medical Act.
The Council also warned that failure to comply with these registration requirements will be considered a violation of Chapter III, Section 16(6) of the Nagaland Medical Act 2014. Appropriate actions will be taken against defaulters.
