NNC Vice Prez reply to MIP NSCN (IM)

Since the MIP, NSCN-IM asked me few questions, in Nagaland dailies on 3rd October, 2012, I am candidly replying here to admit the truth and clear the nasty weather of the past occurrences. So that a better day may come in the near future. Lest the misty atmosphere continues.

I was holding the post of Midan Peyu, Khiamniungan Region from 1977 to 1992. However I knew nothing about the arrest, detention or digging graves of Isak and Muivah, because the controversy among our leaders in Eastern Nagaland was occurred in the areas of Konyak and Heimi Regions and not in the Khiamniungan Region. But I came to know later about the house arrest of Isak and Muivah. Thus as soon as I confirmed it, I as the Midan Peyu of the Khiamniungan Region immediately served a written notification to all Pastors of all Churches in Eastern Khiamniungan to conduct a special prayer for saving the lives of Isak and Muivah as we regard them our great leaders.

As a result in pursuance of the said notification, Thang Village Baptist Church (my own village Baptist Church) led by Heno, Pastor and Langshen Deacon conducted a special prayer to save the lives of Isak and Muivah. It was in the last part 1978. But in response to this special prayer, their (Isak and Muivah) men killed Heno, Pastor and Langshen Deacon in the middle part of 1980. The houses, Church, granaries of my village (Thang) were burned down. About 1000 tins of grain, 3 mithuns and 2 buffaloes belonging to me were also consumed by the NSCN Army as a gratitude to the notification for conducting a special prayer to save the life of Isak and Muivah.

Khiamniungan people fed and served Isak, Muivah and their comrades. But they provided bullets and killed 524 Khiamniungan people within 7 months in 1980 and still setting fire on the heads of Khiamniungan people and uttering with abusive words by presumption.

As for communication between London and Nagaland, all along the period from 1960 to April 1990, our government from time to time contact with A.Z. Phizo in London. However, the communications between West and East at homeland were nil during the period of controversial situation occurred in Eastern Nagaland. This is fact. A hearsay and presumption will not bring anything among us.

B. Pashen,
Vice President,
Naga National Council (NNC)
Nagaland.
