No agitation ‘without proper consent’: JPYO

JPYO urges organisations to take consent before starting agitation

Jalukie, October 9 (MExN): The Jalukie Pumling Youth Organisation (JPYO) on Saturday informed that any form of ‘agitations’ by social organisations would not be entertained in Jalukie area “without proper consent of the stakeholders.”

“The JPYO is also compelled to notify this press statement due to the excessive bandhs/strike called by certain organisations without seeking the cooperation of the stakeholders, thereby, disturbing the tranquility of the town dwellers,” the organisation’s President Azuna Hiekha and General Secretary Keheiku Nring said in a press release.

It observed that Jalukie town “has become a ‘hotspot’ for bandhs and strikes for any issues in the district “without its relevance to the settlers of Jalukie town,” while adding that the JPYO and various organisations of Jalukie town have “resolved not to remain a mute spectator whosoever bypasses the ethical norms of living.”

The organisation further clarified that it would seeks to extend full support on any social issues where the general public is deprived of their due share or any injustice is meted out against them “provided the matter is mutually tabled and genuine, for any kind of agitation to bring free and fair judgment.”

Meanwhile, the JPYO also cautioned that random felling of trees for logging, making charcoal and for fire wood purposes shall be strictly dealt with as per the norms of the land. Stating that such activities have been banned by the Jalukie Pumling Nko and the Old Jalukie Village Council, it said that the organization would also check arbitrary collection of different vegetation and hunting in the village biodiversity conservation areas.

Any person selling land without valid documents obtained from Jalukie Pumling Nko and the Old Jalukie Village Council Chairperson shall be doing so at their own risk between the seller and the buyer and, “no compromise shall be entertained henceforth as notified time and again by the two apex organisations of the village,” it cautioned. The JPYO is committed to check all these illegal activities for the interest of the general public, it added.
